Ludwig Loewe was a German manufacturer, philanthropist and a member of the Reichstag. Loewe's companies became involved in the production of armaments, employing famous designers and creating notable guns.

Alfred Grenander was a swedish architect working in Berlin for most of his life. Between 1902 and 1930 he constructed numerous U-Bahn stations, many of which have landmark status today and shaped the face of the city.
