Hemmings.com: The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is an American icon and one of the most recognizable automobiles ever produced. In 1957, the Bel Air was the top-of-the-line trim on Chevrolet’s full-size cars and its the most sought-after version of the so-called Tri-Five Chevrolets built from 1955-1957. The Bel Air had distinctive two-tone interiors, gold-anodized fender louvers and Bel Air emblems, full-disc wheel covers, and the famous side-sweep trim with a wide, ribbed, anodized aluminum panel on the rear fender. Up front there was an integrated bumper and a gold grille screen that gave the car a massive look, while the rear boasted iconic tailfins, framed in bright trim with taillamps at the bases. The arrival of the 283-cu.in. V-8 in the 1957 Chevrolets was noteworthy but made legendary by the Rochester Fuel Injection option.
