Poznan, Poland

Winter

March 10-18th 2013

Inspired to look back on some previous winters I found a bunch of images that I have never posted before and a few I might have but give a good overall impresson of Poznan covered in snow from the 10th to the 18th of March 2013.

Its not too often that I spend much time going back through my catalog of images, but today I did and seeing all of the spots where i stood waiting for a tram to pass or a person to cross the street brought back a lot of fun memories of schlepping several bags down to Bigfoot Coffee Shop while trying to keep one hand free for the camera. :) Even today, I am still amazed that I managed to do this everyday for years...and in such conditions!

This was my second "Polish Winter" and the first one where we had Bigfoot Coffee Shop to tend to. Coming from Seattle, I had never had expereince in winters like this. Sure, I had traveled to places to enjoy winter, ski, hike and so on, but I had never "lived" in weather like this. Plus, everyday in the coffee shop I was entertained with all kinds of stories of how terrible the winter is here that it fortified and instilled in me a kind of extra layer of cold. Winter mesmerized me with its differences and I would spend far longer than I should have trying to capture what I saw which meant going back inside once my hands were frozen solid.

So...enjoy a little look back on Poznan today with me. :) I hope you enjoy them.
