These remind me of the forest behind the house I grew up in just outside of Seattle. I was lucky to experience the incredible, lush beauty of a dense year round forest. Growing up, these woods were my best friend of sorts. Non stop hide and seek even if no one was looking, Woods that sparked the imagination and at times would get the best of it as afternoons would become a blaze of reenacting every scene from every film that took center stage in my adolescent mind. But, it was the light that filtered through the trees that continues to haunt my imagination and play tricks with my emotional mind. That light that I continue to search for even in the dense jungle of the city. Seeing it again as it draped onto the forest floor made a thousand memories of a thousand afternoons come back and remind me of the effortless comfort and joy that I was so blessed to have had.....and to this day cherish.
