Joshua Tree

The spectacular rock formations of Red Rock Canyon in Nevada made an almost surreal backdrop for the giant cactus' that sprung from the desert floor.

 

Patience was rewarded as the sun was popping in and out of the sporadic clouds overhead. I waited and waited for the light to change and was just about to give up, when all of the sudden, the sun found a small chink in the cover and, amazingly, it directly illuminated the subject matter before me. I only had time to raise my camera and fire off a few frames.
