Glowing edged couple (ground beetles set)
Carabus marginalis (Coleoptera, Carabidae) mating couple.
Part II of the report about this species. After shooting single specimens we found in the pitfall traps, we noticed a couple came together in the plastic pot. There's no better chance for shooting mating Carabids! The female was absolutely cooperative (both with me and the male :-)
Equipment and technique the same as the previous photos.
The photo above is a stack of 6 mixed light exposures, natural light was made up with a diffused flash. Settings: 1/5 sec., f/13, ISO 200.
