Stalked eyes in focus stack (Sphyracephala europaea)

This species has the shortest eye stalk in the family of Diopsidae, but it's just enough for this close-up. Just imagine how "far" I could photograph it if it would have long stalks.

Photo made of a prepared fly from 101 shots @11:1 magnification with the JML 21/3.5 optical lens. 0,01mm increments between each photo, thus the whole depth of field is 1mm.
