Eastern Chad - Universal Children's Day
Each child shall have the right to adequate nutrition and adequate medical services (Declaration of the Rights of the Child): The project also includes nutrition assistance. Here, a staff member of the Treguine Health Center is weighting a young refugee. The centre is run by the International Rescue Committee. In the nutrition department they carry out appetite tests to establish whether small children can digest enriched food, then their weight is monitored. These check-ups are the first steps to ensuring efficient child nutrition.

L'enfant a droit à une alimentation et à des soins médicaux adéquats (Déclaration des droits de l'enfant): le projet prévoit également une aide alimentaire. Ici, un membre du personnel du centre médical de Treguine pèse un bébé. Le centre est géré par le Comité international de secours. Le service de nutrition réalise des tests d'appétit pour déterminer si les enfants en bas âge peuvent digérer des aliments enrichis, puis suit l'évolution de leur poids. Ces contrôles constituent la première étape d'une aide alimentaire efficace apportée aux enfants.
