Ebola: getting ready to fend off the virus in Uganda
“I travel regularly to the DRC. I go twice a week: to the market and to church. I have been hearing on the radio about Ebola and the many people who are sick and dying in the DRC. I definitely fear Ebola. I know that the chance of surviving is very low. I pray that it stops there and it doesn’t come over to this side,” says Nyamwaka.
Thousands of Ugandans living close to the border travel back and forth to the DRC each day. Nyamwaka received information on how to protect herself. “I’ve learned to wash my hands and pay attention to sanitation. I also need to continue being careful not to touch people.”
