Ukraine: EU assistance to thousands of Ukrainians traveling across the line of contact every day
With its partners, the EU provides assistance to meet the most urgent needs of the most vulnerable in Ukraine. EU’s humanitarian aid in Eastern Ukraine includes protection, health, shelter, food, livelihood assistance, water and education, provided to all in need, wherever they live. Thousands of Ukrainians travel across the line of contact every day to visit relatives, access services and find basic goods. Mayorsk entry-exit checkpoint (EECP) is one of the EECPs to enter the non-government controlled area (NGCA). EU Humanitarian Aid supports UNHCR and Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI) to improve the conditions here by providing some basic services such as health care, shelters, water and sanitation equipment in Mayorsk EECP where approximately 7000 people wait in the queues per day to cross.
