“I’m hoping to get something to eat”
Amir talking with Medair staff on how to treat her severely malnourished daughter one-year-old Achuol.
“I don’t have food. I eat pumpkin seeds and sometimes some dry fish,” recounts Amir, an 18-year-old woman who is raising her toddler daughter on her own.
Amir cultivated her plot of land earlier this year but the crops have been destroyed by a flood and she doesn’t have another job.
“The situation is bad. How am I going to sleep today? I didn’t even eat last night,” she adds.
