Khadidja, 11 months, just cured from malnutrition
Cured children are followed-up to avoid relapses. Eleven-month old Khadidja fell seriously ill. “I took her to a healer in the village but her condition worsened,” explains Fatima, her mother. "I was advised to take her to the nearest health post.” The baby was then referred to the centre to rehabilitate severely malnourished children. “With treatment, her health stabilised” explains Cheikh Tourad, ACF Nutrition Officer, “And today, she has completed treatment but is regularly monitored by agents who make home visits to follow up. Today I am relieved because I feared she would not survive", adds Fatima.
