Lebanon: Ensuring health care for Syrian refugees
Mohammed gets some gentle exercise, walking along the corridors of Raee hospital, still linked to his intravenous drip. “I will be leaving the hospital soon,” he said with a big happy smile.
A top performing student in Syria, Mohammed hopes to go back to school next year. “First I want to finish secondary school, and then I want to study medicine, like the doctors and nurses that have treated me here”.
With support from the European Commission and other donors, over 22 000 refugees have received assistance for obstetric and life-saving care since the beginning of 2015.
