Lebanon: Ensuring health care for Syrian refugees

After surgery, Mohammed spent five days at the intensive care unit of the Raee Hospital. He was then transferred to the inpatient ward, where he is now recovering.

Mohammed fled Syria with his family eight months ago. His family decided to leave after his school was hit by shelling. They now live in extremely difficult conditions. They said they would never have been able to afford Mohammed’s treatment without humanitarian support. Thanks to the support of the European Commission and other donors, the UN Refugee Agency covers 75% of hospital bills for life-saving and emergency operations.
