Assisting the victims of the Colombian conflict
Legal support to the victims is crucial. Many people have been registered as internally displaced (IDP), and have then been able to benefit from the assistance provided by the Colombian authorities to registered victims. Here in the photo, from the left: Juan, a beneficiary; Mario, a psychologist from Alianza por la Solidaridad (ApS); Claus Sorensen, Director General of the European Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO); and Ana, a beneficiary. ApS helped Juan and his family to get the IDP status recognition and receive state assistance. Ana, victim of displacement for the second time, benefitted from ApS' psychological support to deal with her trauma and return to normal life.
