Princess Etch a Sketch
christmas elf doodle
Here it is--the completed doodle.
From start to finish, it took about 4 hours. I completed it in one day.
5.5" x 8.5"
I had to have a steady hand for this, but was able to work on it on my train and subways ride back home with little issue.
I actually keep 2 sketchbooks of these kind of doodles because I find that I obsessively create these kind of things in my spare time. Usually they have no representative qualities to them, but found it refreshing to create a doodle with a thematic element to it.
Every snowflake is different, but I don't feel like most of them look like snowflakes. But they were fun to make up!
I'd love to stat making more multi-colored doodles, but I intentionally chose to make this one color because I want to do some photoshop editing with it to see what it looks like in different colors. It's going to be used as a background element for an illustration I'm working on, so I didn't want it to be -too- busy. (I also intend on making it significantly less opaque so it doesn't compete too much with the rest of the illustration)
I had a lot of fun making this and it's what I naturally am inclined to do in my spare time, so I'm thrilled to see that people here seem to appreciate it!
