8 bit Mona Lisa Etch A Sketch
I finished this Etch A Sketch the day before I left for Paris back in last January. Seeing the original at the Louvre was something I never thought I'd get to cross off my bucket list :)
I thought I’d do something different for the Mona Lisa—It’s been etched before (and very masterfully!) so I decided to employ a technique that I used on another piece I made a few years back.
It's actually rather difficult for me to employ this technique, as I am so used to using curves and diagonals. It was a fun challenge though and I am always a fan of the 8 bit look! I also find this piece to be more accessible to people, because we can all make staircases on an Etch A Sketch and this Mona Lisa is essentially A LOT of staircases when you really think about it.
