Chook washing

This year I have media accreditation to shoot the Sydney Royal Easter Show. On my first exploratory outing yesterday, I found myself drawn to the chicken grooming session, in preparation for their show day judging. First, the chicken owners wash their chickens in buckets of detergent, then rinse them in clean water. Next, they dry them with hand-held hairdryers for 30-40 minutes. The chickens tolerate the handling, water and direct heat without so much as a squawk!
