The corona or crown Kaiser (Fritillaria imperialis) is a member of the genus Fritillaria, family Liliaceae.

It is native to a vast area of the plateau of Iran to Afghanistan and Pakistan. It grows to about 1 meter high.

Although the wild form is generally red-orange, various colors are found in culture, ranging from about one true scarlet through orange to yellow. The pendant flowers make a bold statement in the garden spring in the northern hemisphere, flowering occurs in late April or May

The strong smell of the plant may actually be considered an asset to repel pests moles and mice and other rodents garden.
