Sarah helliwell - Camel Valley Vineyard
A multi award winning vineyard has seen its busiest summer ever and launched a new, exclusive wine since employing graduate Sarah Helliwell under the Unlocking Potential (UP) programme.
Camel Valley Ltd, near Bodmin, is a family run business established in 1989 by Bob and Annie Lindo. The company has grown over the last 23 years and distributes its wine all over the UK, including stocking Michelin Starred restaurants. In that time the Lindos have seen the English wine industry snowball and took on Sarah - an anthropology graduate from St Andrew’s University - for a six month UP project to ensure Camel Valley stays ahead of the competition.
UP receives ESF (European Social Fund) Convergence investment to help SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to employ graduates. A Combined Universities in Cornwall scheme managed by Cornwall College, it places graduates with businesses in Cornwall and offers support including valuable expert mentoring for up to six months.
