High Peak 648
High Peak MAN 12.240/Plaxton Centro B5WER (648) seen climbing away from Glossop on the 10:00 61 to Buxton via Hayfield, New Mills and Whaley Bridge.
The two Centros allocated to this hourly route for capacity reasons provide a rare alternative to the great horde of Solos used on other ex Bowers work in the High Peak fleet. Not so pleasant I suspect are the Urban 90 seats and decision to desecrate the windows with meaningless drivel in the name of promotion on a route which offers quite spectacular views along several parts of its course.
This one was originally registered FJ09ZKC however gained what I think should now be termed a nostalgia plate in the months prior to the April 2012 merger.
