About

 

A small lake in Freux (the Belgian Ardennes) filled with the fallen leaves of trees.

I had been looking at the original with sky for so long but never really liked the absolute dull gray that seemed almost out of place with the colorful display in the lake, so I finally took some action to make it into something I do like.

 

HDR shoot

 

Standard 3 exposure HDR [-2,0,+2EV] at f/9 using the Sigma 10-20mm lens on the floor of a small jetty.

 

Photomatix

 

Tonemapped using the detail enhancer.

 

Photoshop

 

° Copied the water and pasted it into a new layer and performed a vertical flip.

° Applied a liquify filter to get the resonating line in the middle.

° High pass sharpening ( See here for description ).
