On March 25, 2025 members and allies of the activist group Rise and Resist gathered outside Paul, Weiss –one of the largest law firms in the US- to protest their capitulation to appease Trump into rescinding an executive order that suspended the firm’s lawyers from holding security clearances, terminated any of its federal government contracts and prevented its employees from entering federal government buildings on national security grounds. As part of the deal, the firm committed to providing $40m in free legal services over the next four years to causes Trump has championed and to wipe away any diversity, equity and inclusion recruiting initiatives.
