Bilstein
is the name of a volcanic remnant in Upper Hesse,
here being approached by two excursionists.
Actually they've booked a whole 'adventure weekend'
and scheduled for later this day are:
-Baking sourdough bread in a traditional rural baking house
-Transfer via horse-drawn carriage to the local dairy
-The singing coach driver will provide amusing entertainment
-Guided tour through the dairy, famed for its cooked cheese.
("More than 750 tons are produced each year and shipped to connoisseurs as far as Singapore and Japan."
Recognition of the cheese as 'European Cultural Heritage' is in the making, some samples donated to the relevant authorities in Brussels may speed the process)
-Cosy conclusion of the day is the 'light festival' in the remnants of a 12th century castle with colourful open air stage show (actually the 'medievally' camouflaged horse guy with friends)
-The night is spent in old wine barrels
so our adventurers are fresh and relaxed for the next day,
which starts early and is entirely dedicated to the favourite pastime of the locals:
a wild boar hunt.
Pencil, 30x40cm.
