"Peter Quick" at Hung Hom

KCR 60, named "Peter Quick" per the red plate above the front truck, rolls through Hung Hom Yard between switching duties. In a little over a year the Kowloon-Canton Railway would become a "fallen flag". The railway, which had been in existence in one form or another since 1910, was merged into the MTR Corporation, operator of Hong Kong's mass transit railway network. MTR's fleet of former KCR EMDs would continue on, wearing the same livery with an MTR logo applied over the KCR logo, through June of 2010 when all rail freight service in Hong Kong was suspended. They could later be found in maintenance of way service through 2021 and may now face an uncertain future.
