Celebrating two years of Flickr!

I did this last year on my first Flickrversary, so here I am again, celebrating two years of Flickr.

My first year of Flickr was amazing. The second? Even more incredible. Thanks again to all of my Flickr friends and contacts for their kind words and continued inspiration.

Highlights of 2008 and my second year of Flickr? Definitely my second trip to Japan; the crazy Shinjuku meeting with Alfie (a Brit ex-pat living in Tokyo), Eriko, Jacopo (from Italy but visiting Tokyo from his new home of Beijing), Mari, Sean (an old friend that had just moved to Japan) and Shoko; and — most importantly — getting married to Mari. (We actually met through Flickr... making us a true social networking success story!)

I did the numbers last year, so here we go again with a few stats...

Photos: 1,309 [which means that I only put up 459 photos in my second year of Flickr...]

Views of my Flickr stream: 66,723

Most viewed: R35 GT-R in red [5,469 views]

Most commented: Evening sparkle [169 comments]

Most favourited: Happy in the blues [72 favourites]

Other people's photos I've commented on: 26,060

Again, my Flickr experience has been all about the great people I've been lucky enough to meet. Last year I did a rundown of all of the Flickr contacts and friends I was fortunate to meet with and shoot with, here's this year's list: Alfie, Andrew (visiting Vancouver from New York City), Andrew (here to visit his father, George), Eriko, Jacopo, Kenny, Stewart and Aichan, Tym, and Vida (it turns out we were coworkers and figured it out when I added a shot of Kyle to my photostream).

Chances are, if you're one of my Flickr contacts and I find out you're coming to Vancouver, I'm going to make sure I take the time to meet you and try to show you a bit of the city I call home. If I'm travelling? Expect some Flickr mail letting you know when I'll be in your area!

It's definitely been a fun ride since my first my first Flickr upload on January 11, 2007... and I'm looking forward to another year of shooting and making friends again!
