Crocheted hyperbolic pseudosphere, completed — my favorite side
I've finally finished my second hyperbolic pseudosphere. It took a ton (well, not quite!) of yarn and I worked on the edging until I thought I was going to stab myself in the eyes with my crochet hook.
Glad it's done and it's going to go to Hawaii to be seen in the Hook the Reef exhibit in June, 2011.
(I was graciously invited to participate! Yay, me!) I just may have to go over there so I can see it in it's reefy environment . . . (Yeah. Right. I wish!)
This pseudosphere turned out to be a little more than 7" across — quite a bit bigger than I expected — AND weighs 5 ounces! Like I said, a LOT of yarn.
I love how it looks with the planes spiraled in this way.
