Barn at Brier Hill, Pa

This old barn is on the site of the Brier Hill Mining operation on US 40, west of Uniontown, Pa. The stone house that went with it is still there, both right beside the highway.

From Archipedia:

"The bank barn east of the house was built in 1848 using queen-post construction and no ridgepole. Tax records indicate that the house and barn were built by Welsh, English, and Scots-Irish masons and carpenters. The building has been abandoned for many years."

As of 2020, Google Maps shows the barn gone but the house still remains, abandoned.
