.. plasma (lcd) monitors and tvs work good for back drops and lighting as per you could easily put an image of what colors you want for lighting,on to the screen.
The larger the monitor the better, as per you can adjust your foreground lighting by moving lights closer or further from the front of your subject .... and you can have your subject move further away from the plasma or lcd (screens with anti glare coat work better in my opinion)
