Close-Up of Hailey in B&W

The favorite picture from my shoot with Hailey on 8/15/15. She did really well and has tremendous potential. Hair and makeup by the wonderfully talented Jess Nicole.

The main light was an Alien Bees B400 with a 10-degree grid about 2 1/2 feet in front of Hailey, up about 9 feet high, set to 1/4 power. The AB400 fill light was fired into a white 7' umbrella 5 1/2 feet high, right behind me, 1/16 power. The rim light was an AB1600 fired into a 9"x36" Chimera strip bank behind Hailey and to her left, 1/8 power. All were triggered with Pocket Wizards. Jess held a silver reflector just below the picture frame to bounce light back up into Hailey's face.

Finished with an onOne Effects Presets Portrait Enhance Luminizer Portait layer at 60% opacity on top of an onOne Effects Glow Charge More Normal layer (protect highlights 48, shadows 64, skin 25) at 50% opacity. Converted to black-and-white using an onOne B&W Basic Fundamentals Automagic 60% on top of onOne Effects Black and White Coffee layer.

Shot with an Olympus OM-D E-M5 camera and Panasonic 45-150mm f4-5.6 lens set to 61mm. ISO 400, f10 at 1/125 second.
