Xylocopa virginica, Eastern Carpenter bee in flight

These bees have been buzzing around my backyard for the last few days. I see them every year in early spring. Today I decided to see if I could get an in-flight image.
I used the Nikon D90 kit lens, stretched out to max zoom. Used the SB-700 speed light. Very difficult and time consuming to compose this bee in flight with the macro lens, although it would be cool to get a better image of this one in flight.
Post-processing with LR. Highly cropped image. Its nice to have the 16 Mpixel D7000.
