Marion 204-M Superfront

Cable-operated mining shovel by the Marion Power Shovel Company of the 70ies.

The complicated rope operated Superfront concept was designed to achieve higher penetration forces in the bank. With the help of moving triangular frames, the bucket could be pushed in the material at the optimum angle.

My model is fully remote controlled using three SBricks, with the lower carriage being independent from the upper structure's movements.

The following eight functions are powered:

- Left crawler track: 1 XL motor

- Right crawler track: 1 XL motor

- Slewing of the upper structure: 2 L motors

- Hoist drum: 1 XL motor

- Crowd drum: 1 XL motor

- Adjusting the bucket angle with the help of two mini linear actuators: 1 M motor

- Bucket door: 1 servo motor

- 10 work lights: PF LEDs

There are openable doors on both sides of the machinery house as well as on the operator's cab.

Scale is 1 to 28.5.
