Bow Lake Sunrise ⍟ Eͤxͯрⷬloͦrͬeͤdͩ
I posted a photo of this same scene a while back in --> here --<..
This one was taken about 35 minutes earlier at sunrise. It's interesting to see that although in between shots I had re-positioned the camera multiple times, I somehow ended up with the almost identical composition.
We arrived at Bow Lake about an hour before sunrise that morning, so early that there was only one other car in the parking lot. I had scouted the entire lakeshore the previous evening and believed to have found the most optimal shooting location, which was to the far right of the lake and would take about 15 minutes of walking time. I had confidence that we could be out there before the first light appeared, so much so that we took our time to eat breakfast before setting out.
As we were about to get going, two cars arrived and out came 6 photogs. Everyone was looking so well equipped, serious and competitive. Judging by their appearance, they all were well prepared and knew their way around.
Panic started to set in - what if they all headed to and took up "my spot"? The shore path was narrow, and "my best shooting location" was just about a few feet long, certainly not enough room to fit so many of us!
I started to regret for taking time to get out of the van, and feeling not fair for them to take "my spot" when I was the first to arrive. With all my might, I surged forward and eventually outpaced them by few feet.
As the trail split, I was delighted to see that they all turned to the left, to the area where I had taken a few shots in the evening before but felt the composition in "my spot" would work better.
However, I started to doubt my choice. Did I make a mistake by coming here instead? Did all those people feeling pity for me for going to the wrong way?
All my doubts left me once I realized that there would be no other photos having a same viewpoint as mine from that very morning!😊
Thanks for your visit, wishing you a pleasant day/night and time in between!🌷🌺💐
