Today, two wonderful people graduated from high school. Lauren and Gina, you are two of the most insanely talented, kind and amazing people I know. Graduating from high school is one of the most monumental moments in your lifetime: it is the day when you stop being a child, when you are no longer a dependent. You are now adults, you are your own people, depending only on yourself. You are standing on the edge of something right now. Behind you is your past, your childhood, everything that has formed you, that has made you what you are. Ahead of you is a vast, wide ocean: the future, the unknown. College, work, boyfriends, disappointment, achievement, despair and happiness beyond belief. You have no idea what's ahead of you. But you are both so incredibly strong. You are both determined, and hopeful, and you will run after your dreams. You are going to change the world. Everything is at your fingertips. Yes, it will be hard, but you are a fighter. You are going to do so much. You are going to inspire people. You are going to take the world by storm.

 

So take a breath. Revel in it. In the moment inbetween. And then look ahead, at that vast, wide ocean. And take a plunge.

And, darling.

Give 'em hell.
