spots galore

I've never seen so many burnet moths in one place as I did last weekend at Mill Hill Nature Reserve. They are such striking creatures with their bold red and black.

 

There were plenty of pairs ensuring the next generation, and as soon as the sun came out they found the plentiful knapweed for nectaring.

 

I was able to shoot through surrounding vegetation to achieve the softness in this image.
