"A City Under One Roof ": The Little Building
Designed by Boston architect Clarence Blackall, the Little Building first opened its doors in 1917 as an office building.
Its nine floors of offices, two-story shopping arcade, numerous restaurants, and underground tunnels connected to public transportation and nearby theaters earned it the nickname of "A City Under One Roof."
