A Purple Pause

One of the interesting things about the London Eye is that it doesn't stop going round very often; instead it rotates constantly at such a slow speed that getting on and off isn't difficult. However, it does occasionally stop (perhaps for someone who needed more help) and I caught it in that situation here.

 

The advantage of the Eye stopping is that the lights and capsules aren't blurred! This was a 25 second exposure...

 

I've played with the levels to darken the sky. I didn't like the reddish colour I kept getting from the lights of London! It's a fairly accurate representation of the colour they turn the Eye in February for Valentine's Day. Just think how many couples must have been around it that night and how much champagne was got through!
