India Workshop

English Language Fellow, Blaire Creamer Hart, conducted a two-day workshop on Communicative Language Teaching at the American Corner in Hyderabad, India on May 26-27, 2016. The workshop was organized by the U.S. Consulate in Hyderabad and the Mamidipudi Venkatarangaiya Foundation (called M.V. Foundation or MVF), a leading organization in India’s movement for child rights. MVF operates several bridge schools (institutions aimed at bringing back dropouts and out of school children into educational systems) in various Indian states. It also works closely with the government on issues of children’s rights and teacher training. The attendees at the workshop were MVF bridge school teachers and teacher trainers who possessed varying levels of English proficiency and were interested in learning how to integrate communicative activities into their lessons.
