Qasr Kharana, one of Jordan’s best-preserved desert castles, situated about 60 km east of Amman, Jordan. The early 8th century Umayyad, is built of limestone, in a nearly square plan with strong buttresses, two levels, and around 60 rooms arranged around a central courtyard.
