A moonlit stroll.

 

Unwilling to miss my chance to capture this amazing place, I hurried out to this spot right after a heavy rain storm that lasted the most of the day. After a quick setup, just before full dark, the clouds parted to reveal a beautiful moonlit sky. The passing rain also left some pretty sweet reflections on the cobblestone ground too.

 

So why is this place called The Ghetto? Here is some wiki goodness:

 

Il Ghetto (the Jewish Ghetto) in Venice is the area in which all Jews were forced to live from the 16th to the 18th century.

 

Made famous by Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice, the Venice Ghetto is now a pleasant neighborhood where Venice’s small Jewish community still lives.

 

If you take a trip to Venice, don’t pass up visiting this beautiful place.
