JRZ GRWN

I might anger a few people here, but I have to say, in my experience, New Jersey drivers are absolutely supporting the bad drivers reputation they have (except for Mina). I lived in Central Jersey for a number of years, and EEEGADS, it was scary. The amount of red lights and stop signs that was run in front of my eyes, the cutting off and swerving around on the turnpike, the "Jersey Slide" (when you suddenly realize that OOPS, your exit is right there and you didn't notice because you were busy cutting people off or cursing at people cutting you off and you go almost perpendicular to the line or traffic across all 4 lanes (because of COURSE you were in the fastest lane even if you knew your exit was coming up)...

I mean, it was epic, I don't mind saying so.

This weekend we were going back home from Manhattan, and it was like people decided to start the crazy holiday traffic early. Which I mean, I'm all for being proactive and stuff, but not with craziness. You can procrastinate being crazy and I won't say a word. Really.

ANYWAY, this one woman did stand out. First of all, she lurched up (speedily, but you couldn't call it "flew up") to within inches from our bumper, and stayed like this for a while. When Hans tapped his brakes to tell her to back off (amazing how many people get the hint), she flew into rage, with gesturing and swerving, changed lanes, passed us, and slid into our lane hitting her brakes. That'll teach us! Except Hans has been in worse situations, so he simply changed lanes and passed her and got ahead. She couldn't take it, and flew up and got ahead of us again and hit her brakes. She couldn't even do that effectively - I mean, if you gonna be an ass, slam on your brakes, don't just tap them. And every time she passed us, she turned in her seat gesturing and screaming. Like, NOT looking at the road. AT ALL.

Anyway, normally, Hans' way of dealing with crazies is to speed up and weave in traffic until he shakes them off, and it doesn't take long, usually. This one... Let's just say we became VERY concerned for the safety of everyone in the road and slowed down instead. She didn't get that at first and kept speeding and then lost us, apparently.

For all her tailgating and cutting off, she didn't get that far. We could see her ahead, coming up on SUV bumpers and cutting trucks off. The kicker was that she got off at the same exit as us, and went through the EZ Pass lane... Except, she didn't HAVE an EZ Pass, so the toll was unpaid. What a dumbass.
