Artisans de Angkor

We went to the school where the restoration society teaches Cambodians carving. They work on doing restoration carvings. This is actually a slab of sandstone. It has been painted over and then the pattern is put on top. They do the carving and then remove the paint. I'm sure this is not the original technique but interesting nevertheless.
