Seymour & Megatron!
Two street survivors!
I hope that this Friday, June 12, my 40th birthday, many of you will join me for a Sleepover at the shelter!
This is not a Hope For Paws event, but we will be there to support it because it is so important!!!
The county shelter system is evolving and it understands the power WE all have with our social media networks, so they are allowing us to do something that was never done before - a sleepover!!!
The idea here is to spend 24 hours at the shelter and raise awareness about the animals in the shelter system who are looking for a home.
I would love for ALL OF YOU to come (even if it's just for a few hours), spend some time with the dogs, cats, bunnies, take pictures/videos and post them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in hopes to get more people all over the world to visit their local shelters, to volunteer and to adopt.
You should bring your sleeping bag or a blanket (it's a little chilly out there), and of course your camera, cellphone, tablet, laptop, so we can spread the word!
Also, if you have old towels, blankets, beds, newspapers, dog toys, or treats to donate to the shelter, please bring those with you too.
The event will begin on June 12 at 11 A.M (Friday), at the Downey Shelter (11258 South Garfield Ave., Downey, CA 90242) and will last 24 hours until the following morning. On the following morning (Saturday), a HUGE adoption event will take place at the shelter (from 10 A.M - 5 P.M).
I will be happy to share many experiences from my rescue work with you guys, and we'll try to get a projector and show Hope For Paws videos all night!
SPECIAL BONUS: every one of you who will join us at the shelter will receive one of my Lucky Leashes - my birthday gift to you smile emoticon
(just come see me or Lisa and we'll give it to you).
You are ALL INVITED!!!
If you would like to volunteer on Friday or Saturday, or to get more information from the organizers of the event, please email: info@SleepoverAtTheShelter.com (I'm just a guest, so I don't know more than what I just told you).
I'll see you on Friday ;-)
