I apologise for my prolonged absence from the group, but blame it on these things which symbolise the pressures of work at present, preventing me from doing the sort of photography I love...
These are an intrinsic part of one of the assemblies I make as part of my job in precision engineering. Helical springs must be fitted onto input spindles before they can be inserted into the body of the assembly, and it's a fiddly process involving fingernails, anti-scuffing paste and some considerable dexterity - not to mention a firm grasp of expletives!
If my nails are too short, the springs ping off into infinity, rarely to be seen again - it drives me nuts!
