This is the grade crossing at Queensbury Rd, which runs between Kenilworth Rd and Baltimore Ave (Route 1). MD 410 (East-West Hwy) crosses the rails directly behind me. The view here is to the south, where a MARC train to Baltimore is due to appear shortly.
This is one of the primary North-South CSX mains out of Washington, and is used by MARC. It is the former B&O.
I've always been fascinated by grade crossings and train stations, and the businesses that grew up around them. They are everywhere in NJ, NY, and California, but not so many here in the Capital region.
Late afternoon shadows and a brilliant sky made this a tough shot.
