MB.174 details

The Bloch MB.174 was a French reconnaissance airplane that was used during the Second World War. The aircraft is notable as the aircraft flown during the Invasion of France by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry author of The Little Prince.

The Aircraft was quite fast so it was able to evade most german fighters during the campaign. Under France Vichy Government control, MB.174s performed reconnaissance missions over Gibraltar.

Marcel Bloch, a French Jewish Aircraft designer, designed the aircraft. During the war he refused to work for the Germans, so he was arrested at the Buchenwald concentration camp. He later changed his name to Dassault, and created planes like the Mirage.

About the model:

I recently received a new LEGO windscreen and I thought it was perfect to make this aircraft. The model has a movable rear defensive gun and retractable landing gear.
