Magical Morning at the Dark Hedges
I couldn't believe my eyes when I arrived at the Dark Hedges early on the last morning of September.
A thick mist hung over the entire Causeway Coast that morning, and as the sun fought its way through the fog, it lit up the road through the Dark Hedges. (These trees were planted along a boulevard by the Stuart Family in the 1800s that have since grown over the road and linked themselves together, and are most famous for their role as the Kingsroad in season 2 of "Game of Thrones.")
The result was almost the exact image I had imagined in my head when I planned a photo shoot here. Rarely does a shot work out that perfectly, but this spot lived up to -- and in fact, far surpassed -- all of my expectations. If I hadn't head breakfast waiting for me at my B&B, I would have stayed to soak in the magical feeling for much longer...but then again, I couldn't complain, having gotten to spend over an hour there already.
