The snow eventually relented and there was a very slow thaw this morning. Today, Sunday, was “Ruhetag” so all shops apart from restaurants and cafes were shut. Nevertheless I took the S-Bahn to Marienplatz and had a gander around the area before walking to the Hauptbahnhof and catching a train back before tonight’s Mavericks concert. While in the Marienplatz area I paid my three Euros to climb the 299 steps of Alte Peter - St Peter’s church tower and despite the ice and snow still up there, I got this and other pics. I was scared I might drop my phone, but I was fine...
