Serpentine Pavilion Infinity Boxes
The Serpentine Gallery’s annual architectural commission showcases new temporary buildings by international architects. This years Pavilion has just opened with open dates of 10th June to 9th October. This one is a particular gift for Photographers being made up of multiple open boxes and is great for pattern and abstract images. BIG founder Bjarke Ingels created a giant tent like structure of translucent boxes with a cafe inside. I did find out while inside that it was only temporarily waterproof when a downpour hit and gradually percolated down. As it eased off we were all ejected so they could clean up, no doubt worried about people slipping. This shot was taken at an angle for more dramatic effect. By the way BIG is a Copenhagen and New York based group of architects.
The picture was taken handheld with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20mm lens at 17 mm. 3 raw images 2EV spacing processed with Photomatix Fusion. I used Topaz Denoise and then more detail was brought in using Topaz Clarity. More punch was added with a clarity effect using unsharp mask 40 amount and 40 radius
