Edward Beck & Son Ltd Scammell Highwayman & Lowloader.
Seen here parked in Edward Beck's depot on Greg Street Stockport in 1964 is Scammell Highwayman 4x2 tractor unit Reg No WJA 131 hauling a four-in-line low-lowder with a steam locomotive on board.
The standard-gauge 0-4-0ST steam locomotive named Hawarden, was used at John Summers Globe Ironworks at Stalybridge as a shunter around the large five acre site.
During the early 1960's Edward Beck & Son Ltd had quite a number of Scammell's in their fleet before switching over to a mainly ERF & Foden dominated fleet.
